Get Excited for Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas & Book Giveaway

Oh how I wish I was giving away copies of Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas, but no. I'm afraid I'm going to have to sit tight and wait for this book's release just like the rest of you.

You ARE anxiously awaiting Rainshadow Road, too, right? Did you read the first chapter excerpt on Lisa's website yet? No?! What are you waiting for? Go read it HERE. Go ahead and read it right now. I'll wait for you....

So what did you think? I love this opening scene. Already I'm in love with the Pacific Northwest setting. I was lucky to visit the region two summers ago with my family, so I can attest to the grandness of it's natural and rugged beauty and I can see why Lisa Kleypas chose this particular setting for her Friday Harbor series. It truly is a majestic place and invokes a sense of both peace and wonder.

As for Lucy Marinn and Sam Nolan, in just one opening scene, we can see there's a subtle chemistry between them, don't you think? I can already tell their relationship is going to be a sweet discovery, although it's not going to be so straightforward. There's some obstacles in this love story of which we already know and I'm sure even more to come as the story progresses. One thing we definitely know about Lucy is her strong sense of caution when it comes to relationships with men, and who can blame her after the awful break up she's going through. Oh, but you haven't heard the details of that one yet, have you? Well, as a member of Lisa's Divas I was able to read the second chapter excerpt recently, and let me tell you the break-up is a tough one. I hope Sam is good at convincing Lucy of love and happily ever after. Although, to tell you the truth--he's going to need some convincing of the possibility of that, too! I can't wait to see how Lisa Kleypas brings these two characters together.

To help get you psyched for the February 28, 2012 release of Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas, I'm giving away three beautifully bound hardcover copies of the first book by Lisa that introduces us to Friday Harbor and the Nolan brothers.... Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor.

Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor is the story of Mark Nolan and Maggie Collins, the owner of a very special toy store in Friday Harbor. This heartwarming story is so charming and will leave you believing in the magic of love.

You can read my review of Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor HERE. I can't believe I read it way back in October 2010! That was many, many books ago for me, but the characters, their story and the setting!--are still fresh in my mind.

  1. It's hard for me to choose just ONE book by LK that I loved above any else but I will say that one of my favorites that doesn't get enough love (IMO) is Scandal in Spring. I just adore that book to pieces!

Thanks for hosting a fabulous giveaway Christine!

  2. My favorite Lisa kleypas book is dreaming of you with derek craven. Mmmm. Peach_margarita06at

  3. I've never read any Lisa Kleypas, but I've always wondered. And your charming description has me interested, Christine. :)

  4. I've never read her yet, I'll have to check her out!!

  5. I love Lisa's books. My favorite is Dreaming of You. Sarah and Derek get me every time! I re-read that book at least a couple of times a year!!!
And then probably Scandal in Spring because I love Daisy and then Tempt Me at Twilight

  6. oooooohhhhhh.... me, want, now, plz?

My favorite of her--and I'm not yet done with her backlist, mind you--is Again the Magic *double checks title* Yes, correct.

Oh me oh my, but I absolutely love this novel.

And I enjoyed Sugar Daddy quite a bit, despite being in the first person, but I confess that reading Blue-Eyed Devil ruined the series for me (I still have Smooth Talking Stranger in the humongous TBR mountain range, and don't see it moving anywhere so far). Not, mind you, because of the story or even the characters, it was simply that I couldn't shift my...well, my beliefs of who the characters were from Sugar Daddy to who they are supposed to be in Blue-Eyed Devil. (I blame the first person point of view)

(And I think I've already told you this a few times...)

  7. I know you know I'm not entering as I know you know where I live *grin* but I just wanted to say that BED is still my favourite LK novel. I haven't tried the first book in this new series yet...not really in the contemporary romance mood ATM. But I'm keeping it on my TBR list :)

  8. My favorite Lisa Kleypas book is Devil in Winter. Thanks for the giveaway.

  9. My favorite is Dreaming of You! I have yet to read the contemps because I hate to read them out of order but the story of the first one turns me way off.

  10. oh yes please! i got this from the library and LOVED it, so it would be great to own ;)

hmmm my favorite Kleypas?? now thats IMPOSSIBLE!!! either It Happened One Autumn or Dreaming of You. i love almost all her historicals, her 1st person contemps didnt really work for me, but i plan on reading all the Friday Harbor books.

  11. No need to enter me - I bought and read Christmas Eve at Friday Harbor when it first got released.......I may need to re-read it before Rainshadow Road hits the shelves.

  12. I wish I could be a Lisa's Diva but can't because I live outside the US. Also not eligible for the prize, but that's okay because I read it when it first came out too!

  13. Thank you all for entering my giveaway! I used to generate the list of winners and they have been notified by email. I wish I could give ALL of you a copy of the book..
