It's a Happy Birthday today...

Mine! Didn't I just celebrate one of these last year? Before you know it, the next one's upon you! I can't complain, though. I'm really happy where I am right now in my life and I have a lot worth celebrating.

Sure, I've got a few gray hairs, but I try to look on the bright side. They're highlights!

And then there are the small wrinkle lines by my eyes and mouth, but they're evidence that I've been laughing and smiling, right?

I can't really think of anything on bright side when it comes to sagging breasts, but I suppose that's where our friend Victoria and her secrets come in. *coughpushupbracough*

But if that's all I have to complain about in my midlife years, I'll take it!

Right now, I'm probably the healthiest I've been in at least two decades. I've been working really hard at taking good care of my body in the last year ... eating healthier than ever before and I've even lost 34 lbs.[15 kg] in the last six months, and I exercise hard nearly every day and have a lot of fun doing it. I even had a physical recently and got an excellent report from the doctor. I'm so grateful for my good health.

As for emotional well being, I have a wonderfully attentive and sexy husband who makes me very happy and two beautiful children who add such joy to our lives. When they're not driving us crazy, that is! I have an amazing group of friends who are not only fun to be with, but they're compassionate, supportive and also generous with their time and attention. Some of those friends are people like YOU who I've met online.

As part of my happy birthday celebration, and maintaining my tradition of previous years, I'm giving away a small token gift to three people here on my blog-- Kiss My Face Facial Mini Kits! It's a really cute little kit that comes with a sample size of the Kiss My Face Soy Soft Facial Cleansing Bar, revitalizing Facial Toner and Cell Mate-15 moisturizer and sunblock. When I say "little kit," I mean little, but it'll be a fun, natural treat for your skin and a great way to try out these three products. Click here to find out more about the products in the kit.

To enter the giveaway, just leave a comment below telling me what's so fabulous about being in your 40s. And if you're younger than that ... make something up! ^_^

Giveaway ends on Friday, October 8, 2010.

Three randomly selected winners will be chosen and announced in a separate post. Winners will have three days to claim their prize before I'll give it away to someone else.

Please include your email address if it is not easily found on your profile.

Open to everyone.

  1. Happy Birthday!!!! :D

What's fabulous with being in your 40s? Mm, I would guess that you know yourself better than you did when you were younger, and I think that means confidence and maturity you earned.

  2. Happy birthday to you, Christine! *hug*

Being in your forties is great: you have enough distance from your youth (teenage years) to appreciate the good and the bad decisions you made at the time--and enough time ahead of you to put all those hard learned lessons to good use!

Add being in love in your forties and you hit the lottery!

(Please don't enter me in the giveaway--I' notorious for never remembering to do anything with any and all beauty/skin care products people *coughmymothercough* have given me through the decades.)

  3. Happy Birthday Christine!

Ohhh 40s are great years... you know yourself better as a woman by then. Young enough to enjoy it all and old enough to know better, lol! Does that make sense?

  4. Being in your forties means you don't have to apologize for what you say.

  5. oops...forgot to say

    Happy Birthday!

  6. Happy Birthday!!! I wish you love in bunches; happiness, health and wealth with smiles and hugs. Continued blessings to you and your family.

(No need to enter me in giveaway, just wanted to wish you happy.)

We should have a celebration cheesecake soon :)

  7. Happy Birthday, Doll!
So happy that you visited with us for your birthday! What better present than to know your friends wish you the best?
Enjoy the rest of your day!

  8. Happy Birthday! It sounds like you've really got a handle on things - I think that's one of the benefits of being in your 40s; you're not old but you're wise :)

(not entering, just sending birthday wishes!)

  9. Don't enter me for the giveaway - just wanted to wish you HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Here's to another year of happiness, love and good health!

  10. Happy Birthday Christine
You're so right. It's all about how you feel. Age is just a number. As long as I can run around a court with a tennis racket in my hand I'll still be happy. Don't enter me, too much to send to Canada.

  11. Just came to say... Happy Birthday! :)

  12. ((((Heather))))

    Happy Birthday!!

The 40's are a good decade, you still have lots of energy to keep up with the kids activities and while they may give you a few grey hairs they don't really hit until the 50's. ;)

Since I live over the border, I don't want you sending your lovely gift here it's too much. I wanted to wish you a happy though!

  13. Happy birthday Christine!! I hope you have a great time and that your sexy husband takes you out :D

Best thing about being in your 40s is that you're all settled :P You're married with a sexy husband, two beautiful daughter :P No need to worry about meeting the one :P

By the way, no need to enter me in the contest :P but thank you for your generosity!!

  14. Happy Belated Birthday on your blog, but I caught you yesterday on the other thing! *G*
I'm not in my 40's. But, you make getting there look fabulous!

Hope you were treated like a Queen on your day!

    (Don't enter me, please!)

  20. Happy Birthday! I'm so proud of your weight loss and I'm very happy that you doing so well with all aspects of your life.

Your forties are the perfect time: you have enough wisdom not to make the same mistakes you did in your 20s and 30s, yet you still have your whole life ahead of you! Time for some new adventures!

  21. Wow so apparently I suck b/c I missed all the celebrations and your birthday!

  22. Happy birthday!! I'm not there yet, but I know your kids aren't super young so you probabably for you it's going to be having more time to do things for yourself. Enjoying time doing those things, like cooking and reading, with your children.

My kids will just be hitting 10 when I hit my 40's so I'm looking forward to seeing who my little people are becoming.

  23. A belated Happy Birthday! Am so glad you had a lovely day!

  26. Thanks again for all of your lovely birthday wishes and the wonderful words of wisdom on the fabulous 40s!

Those of you who said to not enter you in the drawing, I'm honoring your wishes, but threw in a couple of names anyway because I know some of you just didn't want to trouble me with shipping outside the US. Mailing to Canada isn't that much more on small items... and I DID say the kit was very mini, right?

Posting the winners in a little bit...

  27. doodlegirl... Six months, not six weeks! I lost 34 lbs. in six months! YAY!!!! I'm still losing, but it is more slow going now... barely 1 lb. a week compared to the 1 1/2 to 2 lbs. I was losing in the beginning. My running times are SO much better now. I run a comfortable 10 minute mile now compared to the 11.5 minute mile I was struggling for last year!
