This week was one of those weeks when I didn't realize how stressed out I was until it was over and now I feel this tremendous need to get some release. I'm celebrating a major milestone on big project I've been working on for the last year with a pitcher of watermelon martinis! ... and then when the kids are finally asleep... well... ;)
4 lb. of watermelon
16 oz. of lemonade
1. Cut watermelon flesh from the rind and into chunks.
2. Puree watermelon in blender until smooth.
3. Use a fine mesh sieve and strain watermelon juice into a large glass pitcher.
4. Add lemonade to pitcher and stir.
At this point, you can serve the watermelon lemonade to the kids in glasses filled with ice.
5. Fill a glass with ice.
6. Add a shot of vodka to ice.
7. Fill glass to top with watermelon lemonade.
Ok, these sound absolutely delicious!!!! Congrats on your project, and dude you absolutely deserve a pitcher of some watermelon martini goodness :)ReplyDelete
Step 8. Bypass first 7 steps and arrive at Christine's house with chilled glass and hollow leg.ReplyDelete
LB :: YES! C'mon over! I'm already bypassing step 7. and just repeating step. 6!
Am enjoying an Italian Margie right now!ReplyDelete
Sweet!! I'm pretty much drinking vodka on ice now.ReplyDelete
We should take advil together tomorrow!ReplyDelete
Yes. Advil. In the morning. Check.ReplyDelete
My husband is offering me coffee. O_oReplyDelete
Wonder if there's a hidden message there....
Sooooooo, what's the project? Am I being to nosy? Well, at any rate, congratulations! I agree with Thea - these do sound delicious. I might have to steal your recipe.ReplyDelete

So where is your Pleasure Unbound post???ReplyDelete
Doesn't the hubby know that if you are tipsy your activities later will be... more creative?ReplyDelete
Those drinks look amazing. Very dangerous. So tasty you don't pay attention to how much alcohol you have consumed.
Congrats with your project!
Congrats on your project and I think I'll have some of that watermelon martini. Is it drinking time as yet?ReplyDelete
Wow, those sound amazingly sinful! May I have two or three please?ReplyDelete

So, when are you making me one of these?ReplyDelete
Thanks for the congrats, everyone! I feel such a relief that I finally made it to this milestone!ReplyDelete
Definitely try the watermelon lemonade martinis! So yummy. With or without the alcohol. Mmmm! :)
Jill :: My big project is a renovation/addition to our house that has been in the planning stage for what feels like forever. And I exaggerate NONE when I say MY project since my husband is leaving the whole thing up to me. Which is great because I have a lot of freedom to make decisions (with financial limitations, of course), but also very stressful because it is all very overwhelming.
Oh wow, Christine that is a HUGE project. But it does sound like a lot of fun. How very exciting for you! Congratulations again!ReplyDelete
oooh - sounds good! :)ReplyDelete
That looks delish! Congrats on your project! :)ReplyDelete
Thanks, Jill! I'm very excited! :DReplyDelete
We really need the space. We took my husband's dad in with us over a year ago and we are living in pretty tight quarters right now. Currently we have three bedrooms each about 8x10 (no such thing as a master bedroom), one bathroom, a living room, dining room and a non-eat in kitchen. I can't wait to have some breathing room! :)
Hey sorry I missed you the other day was having a migrain and when I got back on you were gone :(ReplyDelete
Glad the project is going well!!! Always stressful but final results are grand *g*
I'll take a dozen, please.ReplyDelete
Mondays suck nuts.
Oooo...I love watermelon! That looks wonderful. :)ReplyDelete
