2010 Support Your Local Library Challenge

Challenge: I joined "The Mini" Support Your Local Library Challenge which is to read at least 25 books that I have borrowed from my local library in 2010.

I started borrowing books from my local library much more often than I had in a long time, yet didn't think I would borrow and read the minimum of 25 books for this challenge. But when I went back and counted up the books that I read last year that were borrowed from the library, I was surprised to come up with 18! So maybe reading 25 books from my library in 2010 won't be such a reach after all. So I'm up for the challenge!

  1. What a fantastic number of challenges Christine. I'm very impressed. Good luck with them all.

I've only joined three challenges this year, the Big Book Challenge (of course :), the Support Your Local Library Challenge and the M/M Challenge. That's two more than last year, so I figure that in itself is a good start :)

  2. There's actually two more. I ran out of time last night, as I'm up early this morning for spin class and needed to get some sleep! I'll post them later.

I did join a crazy number of challenges this year, but I'll be doing A LOT of cross over books. Like a YA book from the library will fulfill two challenges simultaneously and so on. A few of the challenges, I'm not really confident I'll get to finish. Namely the three author specific ones. That's a lot of books by one author to read in the same year. But we'll see.

Thanks for the good luck wishes... I'll need all I can get! ;)

Good luck with your challenges. I'm sure you'll ace the library one as well as the others. :)

  3. Wow, I'd never visited that blog before. Look at all those people signed up for this challenge! I should sign up, but I won't because I'm lazy :-)
I'd go straight for the 100 challenge and I'd probably have it bagged by August. I love my library. I work 1 block from the central library and live 3 blocks from a branch. I brought home 5 Nora Roberts large print just last night. Good treadmill fodder.

  5. Phyl, LOL, just do it. It's so easy to sign up and fun to keep track of your library books. Or maybe it's just me having fun (i.e., being obsessed) with making and keeping lists. ;o)

Lori, I know, right? It'll be like two challenges for the price of one! LOL!

  7. Whew! You amaze me between working out/running and your book challenges! This challenge I could and might do. After all, I've already read 2 books from the library this year already. *G*
    Have fun reading!

  8. Hey Christine! Wow, you are brave taking on all those challenges. Good luck! I'm hoping to take advantage of many crossover books as well with this one.

  9. Thanks, J. Kaye! If I never get my nose out of a book in 2010, it's all YOUR fault! ;)

Brandy, thanks! You should join the challenge! :)

By the way, the working out/running I do is only an average of 6-7 hours a week. All the reading I'm going to have to do to keep up with these challenges. . . well, it's a lot! LOL!

Mel, thanks for visiting. I don't know if 'brave' is the right word for what I've done joining all of these challenges. 'Over ambitious' and 'crazy' seem a bit more accurate. ;)

  10. LOL @ Christine! I'll gladly take the credit, I mean, the blame.

  11. I've started borrowing more books from the library as well, but I just suck at reading them. Lots of time, the books will sit on my nightstand for weeks ^_^;
