I have managed to pull together this post on Carl's annual Once Upon A Time reading challenge in which I so enjoy participating. Carl who blogs at Stainless Steel Droppings is hosting the 7th annual Once Upon a Time reading and viewing event that encourages participants to explore fairy tales, folklore, fantasy and mythology in books and on the screen. This year marks my 4th year participating. Here are the details:

Time Frame: March 21 - June 21, 2013
Challenge: Various levels [see sign up post at Carl's site.]
Rules: Have fun, have fun, share and don't be freaked by the idea that this is a "reading challenge"--hence I used the word "event" above instead. You can join in by just committing to read ONE book from the themed categories.

I hope to see you participating in the Once Upon A Time event or Stardust Read-Along or both!
I think I have been doing this challenge for six years and I still haven't managed to read Midsummer Night's Dream!
ReplyDeleteSounds really sweet, I wish I could participate :(
ReplyDeleteBut alas there is too much school work to be done!
Good luck though!
This is probably my favorite reading challenge ever, for a lot of reasons. I actually did manage to read A Midsummer Night's Dream one year for OUaT--by reading it aloud with my husband and daughter...always enjoy Shakespeare more that way. :P Hope you enjoy it too, if you get to it! And I know you'll enjoy OUaT...because how couldn't one, right? :D
ReplyDeleteAh, one of my favorite Shakespeare pieces! Best of luck with your challenge! Have you tried Alex Flinn's books? Two, Beastly and Bewitching were both good and would maybe work for this challenge.
ReplyDeleteMarg ... Good luck with the challenge this year and keep in mind that there are several graphic novels for Midsummer Night's Dream out there. I know it's sort of cheating .. but not completely!
ReplyDeleteAlex ... Aww, good luck to your with school work! xo
Debi ... I love this challenge, too. I find it very comforting for some reason. Are you doing the Stardust read-along?
Brandy ... Midsummer Night's Dream is your favorite Shakespearean piece? So great to hear!
I've read Beastly and really enjoyed it. I'll look for Bewitching. I think I may have seen Cloaked at the library by the same author. Maybe I'll read BOTH! ;)
