In Death Series Reading Challenge July 2012

Interested in joining the Challenge? Anyone is welcome to join in at any time of the year at wherever in the series you currently are. See the sign up post HERE and join the fun!

Did you read any In Death series books this month?

CHALLENGE PARTICIPANTS: Link up any In Death posts you made this month here. If you made a post on your blog, whether it be a review or commentary, please grab the link to your post and enter it in the comments below so we can find each other's latest In Death posts easily. I'm too lazy to grab Mr. Linky. You can also just use the link to your goodreads or other virtual bookshelf as well.

BOOK REVIEW:

None for me this month. I hoped I would get to Strangers in Death this month--I even brought it with me on vacation to read next but I probably won't get to it by the end of the month.

SERIES DISCUSSION: Keeping in the spirit of the Olympic Games, let's imagine Eve and her gang competing in the games. In which events do you imagine them competing?

How about Eve and Roarke both competing in shooting. Maybe even against each other? USA vs. UK? Ha! Perhaps Summerset in some equestrian event? What do you think?

  1. There's a shooting contest, right? Sharpshooter?

I did Salvation this month. It's one of my favorites of the series. Strangers was ok, but you'll need to get through it to the lovely warped world of Salvation. ;)

  2. I re read a few of these this month--Innocent in Death and Indulgence in Dead just this week.

If we go symbolic, I can easily see Eve and Roarke competing in the marathon--dogged determination (aka, plain old stubbornness) to reach their goal.

Or even some sort of thriatlon--as long as there's running, fighting and shooting

  3. Each month that passes by makes me sad because I don't pick up these novels. I really should get back to them…

What a fun idea! It would be lovely to see them compete each other in some sport. Any sport is fine to me!

  4. I so need to get on and read the next In Death book!

Hm. I think I could see Eve competing in a Modern Pentathlon (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modern_pentathlon)!

  5. Hey, I did one this month. LOL I reviewed the audio book of Celebrity in Death. Here's the link - http://lesliespsyche.blogspot.com/2012/07/audio-review-celebrity-in-death.html

I'm not much into the Olympics so other than a shooting event, like you mentioned, maybe swimming? Eve and Roarke both like to swim, although it usually leads to them getting naked so maybe not such a good idea. LOL

  7. Definitively shooting, but what about boxing/wrestling. I believe Eve and Roarke would be good in those :P

  8. Gina.. Yes! Sharpshooting.. that's what I was thinking, too!

I am almost finished with Strangers. Finally got into it.. largely because I only bought two books with me on vacation so as soon as I finished the first one, I had no choice to read this one. Then a long flight home.. ;) Can't wait to get to Salvation!

azteclady ... Two in one month! Impressive. :) Are those two of your favorites?

I like your train of thought regarding Eve and Roarke competing in the marathon. It works!

Yes.. running, fighting (like Judo!) and shooting are definitely up their alley! lol!

Maija... Hey there! So good to "see" you. Do I owe you an email? Oh gosh.. I'm so sorry if it's my turn to reply.

What was the last In Death book you read? When I get to that one, I can get on your case. ;)

orannia ...Eve would definitely excel--and be compelled to whip anyone's butt--in the pentathlon. Great suggestion!

Leslie... YAY! Good to hear you tackled one this month.

Swimming is a great suggestion. Especially since they can train at their convenience since they have their own indoor pool for crying out loud. They'd have to have some sort of reliable chaperone to keep them from getting naked and busy in other ways than swimming laps. haha!

nath... Like judo, perhaps? I watched some brief coverage on that event earlier last week. Definitely up their alley.. just what Eve does to criminals on the street on a regular basis. lol!

  9. Christine... Yikes, you are only 1.5 books behind me. Last book I read was 27.5, a novella. I better get back to them soon :)

  10. Okay, Maija. I will let you know when I'm ready to start book 28, which is Promises in Death. If you haven't already read it by then, I will pressure you to read it with me that month. :)
