Challenge: Read SIX books in 2010, one in each of the following categories:
1. A book with a FOOD in the title.
2. A book with a BODY OF WATER in the title.
3. A book with a TITLE (queen, president, duke...) in the title.
4. A book with a PLANT in the title.
5. A book with a PLACE NAME in the title.
6. A book with a MUSIC term in the title.
I saw this challenge on Beth's blog a while ago and passed right over it at the time, not really thinking of any challenges other than the In Death Reading Challenge I was hosting. But then I saw it again on someone else's blog (I can't remember where!) and thought it might be fun to try to do. Amazingly, I found titles from my TBR shelf and my Library List that satisfy all of the requirements, so here is my tentative list as I may change my mind if something better comes along.
FOOD . . 1. The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen 4.06.10
BODY OF WATER . . 2. Tomorrow River by Lesley Kagen 9.9.10
A 'TITLE' . . 3. Except the Queen by Jane Yolen & Midori Snyder 4.03.10
A PLANT . . 4. Bed of Roses by Nora Roberts 1.20.10
A PLACE . . 5. Looking for Alaska by John Green 8.5.10
MUSIC TERM . . 6. Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater 6.20.10
A PLACE . . 5. Looking for Alaska by John Green 8.5.10
MUSIC TERM . . 6. Ballad by Maggie Stiefvater 6.20.10
To keep track of my progress, I'll come back and darken the books as I finish reading them. If it's gray, I haven't read it yet.
Pssst, Christine. Knight of Pleasure came out in December. (Knight of Passion comes out end of May.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention!

Oh, thank you for catching my blunder! I fixed it before anyone else noticed. Shhh... ;)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the challenge! So glad you decided to join in the fun. I love your book list.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Beth! This is a fun challenge. I can't believe I found titles for each category from my own shelves and library loot list.
