A-Z Mystery Challenge {by the author}

Host: Michelle at red headed book child blog.

Challenge: Read 26 mysteries, one book for each letter of the alphabet that corresponds with an author's last name.

It's unlikely that I'll actually read 26 mysteries in 2011, but it is a genre of which I'd like to read more, so I figure joining this challenge will give me a fun method of selecting and tracking the mysteries I read. Plus it is hosted by my darling friend Michelle. :)

Please leave any suggestions for mystery authors in the comments. I have a preference for cozy mysteries and or mysteries with romantic elements. Thank you!

  1. Thank you my dear for being a part of my little ol' challenge!
    I would suggest Sandra Brown for some romance/thrillers. For some cozy action, I love Laura Childs, Cleo Coyle, Leslie Meier and Joanne Fluke...to name a few.
    Oh and Lorna Barrett!

    Have fun!

  2. I don't know Christine. This one sounds quite difficult, because not only you have to read mysteries, but also match with the author's name ^_^; and what if you get hooked on a series?

    Are the Lucy Valentine books considered mystery?

  3. Thanks for the suggestions, Michelle! :)

    nath, I know. This challenge is a bit of a stretch for me, that's for sure. We'll see how many letters I get through. I guess less than 10. ^_^

    I do think the Lucy Valentine books are mystery. Do you? Now I'm second guessing... LOL. I thought it was along the lines of cozy mystery, but I don't know! LOL!

  4. You might like Tressed to Kill by Lila Dare. There's also the Angels series by Mary Stanton. The Maggody series by Joan Hess is hilarious in a backwoods way. *G*
    There's Heather Graham and then Mudbug series by Jana DeLeon. Which was fabulous. *G*

  5. What an interesting (and yet tricky *thinks of X and Z* challenge!

    I just picked up (less than an hour ago) Karin Slaughter's Undone. It's on in the series - the first is called Blindsighted:

    Oh, and for T - PJ Tracy. I adore their Monkeewrench series! The first in the series is...Monkeewrench :)

  6. Well I don't know. I think on the spine, it only says "Novel" - very helpful ^_^; however, at the bookstore, it's shelved with romance...
