I have never really been able to effectively keep my New Year's Resolutions until about five years ago when I started to make them sexual in nature. What can I say? They were fun resolutions... and still haven't broken a single one of them yet! (Go, me!) This year's resolution follows suit with my own personal tradition, but I want to make a second one that you can help me with. Interested? Yeah... I thought you would be. ;)
Okay, so here it is: My second New Year's Resolution for 2008 is to read more novels by authors who are not represented in 'mainstream' romance. So if you read any exceptional ebook authors, non 'NY published' authors, or an author whose book(s) are just not promoted as effectively as some otherwise more popular authors, let me know. I just know I am missing out on some fantastic reads out there and would love to discover some hidden shining star! .... and because the perfect TBR pile should be kept close to 100 books at all times, don't you think? ;)
I'll keep my eye out for you chickie! 100 in your TBR? I thought I was bad with 35! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks!
ReplyDelete100 books is a bit much, huh?
I seriously think I shopping for books almost as much as I like reading them!
You know that smell you get walking into a bookstore?
The Coffee and new book smells?
OMG That's like crack to me.
TOTAL CRACK ADDICT.
Just sayin'. ;)
*grimace* I have probably over 500 in my TBR pile. I need them to stop publishing them for a while because my reading has slowed, but my buying has increased!
ReplyDeleteKristie.... 500 books in your TBR pile makes me feel sooooo much better. Phew *wipes brow* I thought I needed rehab =)
ReplyDeleteI am pretty old fashioned when it comes to reading. I like the feel and smell of my new book. I wait for the e-books to be printed, which takes patience (which you know I don't have) I would definitley suggest Amelia Elias and Rene Lyons excellent Vampire series. :)=
I should really buy stock in Borders. I am there 3 times a week.
ReplyDeleteI also should set up a cot at the library. My book holds are crazy there, plus I also found out they have books you can download. I have downloaded 20 already and no time to read!!
My New Years resolution BTW is to win the lotto, to buy more books of course! *G*
I think 100 is a pretty good number. Hehe! I have 51 books on my TBR list. Actually I'm pretty proud of that number, it has gone down alot from a few months ago. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI'm so there with you guys! I love the bookstore and can hang there forever! I actually found a used bookstore in my town yesterday and even though it didn't have that "new book" scent it was sheer heaven to walk in the place! Yes my TBR grew significantly!! :)
ReplyDeleteI went through withdrawals from not going to the bookstore. I finally got me a fix today! I hadn't been since Dec. 18th! Man, I can even remember the date of my last trip! hehe. I had to go to the big Border's, which is also the farthest away, and found it very difficult to leave.
ReplyDeleteDevin asked me last night what my new year's resolution was and I said to read! He said "But you do that already. You can't pick that!" So I said, "Buy more books?" He said, "No, you do that too!"
Hmmm...no new year's resolution for me.
Soooo, what has been your resolution regarding sex?? More of it?? Kinkier?? Hmmm...inquiring minds want to know! ;)
100 is a lot? uh... no comment...
ReplyDelete:) My resolution is to make resolutions *g*
I love your idea for a New Year's resolution about sex. I haven't really made one...but maybe I will now. I always just forget them.
ReplyDeleteKristie > no wonder you had to have all those bookshelves installed! lol
ReplyDeleteSamantha > I'm with you... I much prefer the paper book over an ebook. I have a difficult time snuggling with my laptop in a chair or in bed. But the ARC Fairy recently gave me an ARC for a book I was waiting for, and I did become absorbed in it enough to become severely attached to my laptop! So I guess it depends on the read.
Carolyn > I highly recommend a sex resolution. ;)
Everyone else > We've got a serious addiction issues here! lol But don't you just love it?
Amy > I'll email you privately about my resolution. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm still waiting to hear...:P
ReplyDeleteHehe...great resolution! ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Amy! ;p
ReplyDeletehhmmm....
